PUSHERLINK FIXTURES

Project Type

Mechanical Design & Fabrication

Date

April 2023

Due to the customers tolerances and critical measurements, a fixture was needed to hold the part in 2 orientations with high repeatability. A clamp was already designed to hold the fixture in place but a base plate was needed to hold the clamp in the correct orientation. I designed a base plate with extended supports to make sure that the part was not deflecting due to its length.

The other design is a fixture made to open the clamp. The spring force used to hold the part in place is too great to be opened by hand so I used a plate attached to a Destaco clamp to open the original fixture. This greatly helped with the workflow of the metrology team when swapping parts for large sets of measurements
